Kids, there's nothing more cool than embedding an image to share with someone you like. Everyone knows how to post images on the forum - that is, pasting the URL in the "Insert media from URL" box. However, did you consider where that URL is coming from?
Most likely it's from some random site you found on Google. Cool, no problem, you might think. However, there are two problems with hotlinking an image from any old website. First of all, half the time the image won't even show up, because the site's owner disabled hotlinking of his or her files. You might not even realize this, because the image is already saved in your cache, so it will show up for you just fine. But everybody else will only see a broken image link or a blank space. It might even be replaced with a funny "no hotlinking allowed" image, making you look like a dumb-bot!
Second, even if the image does work and everyone can see it, every view the image gets here is using bandwidth from the website that image is being linked from. In hotlinking an image, you're sapping somebody else's bandwidth, meaning they have to pay for it. And of course,.
So what do ya gotta do? Simple, there are plenty of free image hosting sites specifically made so you can upload and hotlink images without any problems, like I did with the image above. Some examples are...http://imgur.com/
http://postimages.org/
http://puush.me/
So stay cool, host your images. Sonic Says!112Administrators
The rules at YouChew are simple, concise, and easy to follow. Make constructive, quality, entertaining posts, treat your fellow members with respect, and use common sense, and everything will be alright. More specifically, our rules are as follows:
- No pornography (sexual or erotic images with exposed breasts, genitalia, excessive innuendo, etc.), graphic content (gore, shock images, etc.) or illegal content of any kind. Almost-pornography isn't welcome, either. Staff will use discretion, so don't push your luck.
- Don't make posts that are useless to the topic at hand. That includes spamming, shitposting, thread spamming, status spamming, and "necrobumping" (bumping a very old thread with a useless post). Spamming that serves no value other than to hinder the quality of the site is not allowed.
-
Personal abuse, personal attacks, and general mean-spirited behavior are not tolerated at all. If you do this to our members outside the site, it is also frowned upon.
- In addition, suicide and self-harm venting is not tolerated.
- Forum raids, invasions, conspiracy, malicious planning, and illegal activities are not allowed.
- Refer to pinned threads in specific forums and other parts of the site for supplementary guidelines and information. (Blogs, Tennis, Buy/Sell/Trade, etc.)
- One account per person per lifetime, period. It is only necessary to register once, however you will only be punished if you continue to create superfluous accounts after a warning from a moderator. If someone else sharing your IP or an IP very close to yours wishes to join, it's generally advised to give the staff a heads-up first so we don't confuse it for an alt account. Sockpuppet accounts, spam accounts and accounts used for ban evasion will be banned permanently on sight, no questions asked. Users are also not allowed to share accounts.
- Expect bigger, harsher punishments for collaborative flooding, spamming, and shitposting. We have zero tolerance for that behavior.
-
You must be 13 or over to participate. Anyone under 13 will be suspended until they are at least 13 years old. Current members under 13 who joined before Nov 12, 2015 will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
- In addition, it is recommended that you are at least 18 before you join. This will not be enforced, however certain kinds of discussions that happen here may not be suitable for people under that age.
- Staff Discretion Policy: Staff is allowed to use discretion when appropriate to determine if somebody has been troublesome enough to warrant a verbal warning, a suspension, or a ban, with or without being required to consult the rest of the staff.
- Moderator Abuse Policy: In the event of a punishment, users are allowed to dispute their punishment or to dispute a moderator and their actions in general. Mistakes do happen and sometimes moderator action may not be necessary after all.
- Common Sense Clause: When necessary, a staff member is allowed discretion to determine whether an act is a transgression or not, and the rules are not limited only to this list of guidelines. In other words, use common sense.
- Agreement Policy: These rules may change in the future with or without warning, in case we removed or forgot something. By joining YouChew, you hereby agree to these rules, to know them, and to follow them. For users who have been here under the "don't be a dick policy", you agree to these new rules by continuing to use the forum.
Failure to adhere to these rules will result in a warning, if they are of a minor violation, and a ban if they are a major violation (temp or perma is up to the moderation's discretion).
YouChew aims to be a safe, fun (and sometimes even funny) environment where everyone does their best to get along and have a good time. We are not a hugbox, but we're also not a dickbox. Use common sense and we guarantee you'll be here for a very very long time.

Update 1:
Here is the current state of things. YouChew, in the future, is going to be closed to new posts and registrations and will remain in an archived state. We don't have an official timeline planned yet, but when we do, it will be announced.
It's sad to say, but YouChew as it is could not last forever. Many things have changed over the years, and I feel that it is no longer sustainable. As we've all been discussing in this thread already, the growing divide between the generally younger YTP side and the generally older Off Topic side of the community has grown large. As site owner, I feel that I can't be an effective administrator to two separate communities at once, and I am not comfortable being owner to a community that I do not interact with.
Both sides have their history here, which is why YouChew will remain viewable as an archive. When that happens, I, along with some others, are planning to start up a new site, for the older crowd, focused on creative art and media. I will not be creating a new forum specifically for YTP or for younger members. I leave YTP to the members, to forge a new home for themselves elsewhere.
Thank you for reading, and as difficult as it's been for me this past two years, I still consider YouChew my internet home, as many of you do. I hope we'll continue to connect even after this website is closed.
Update 2:
Now, we're getting ready to announce what comes next. What we have here on YouChew will be going in two separate ways:
Neon Castle will be an 18+ only hub for creators. Over the years, we were all drawn to YouChew for YTP, but stayed because of our general interest in creativity. We have artists, musicians, remixers, and enthusiasts of various types under our roof, and what we truly want is to see that atmosphere continue. That's why Neon Castle will be a place where we can continue to have fun and interact while sharing our projects with one another, and hopefully collaborating on even more to come. The forum format will allow us to have a home for our content that is less transient than a chat room, and the increased age limit will be to assure you that you are among your peers. The site is being created by @Dopply and myself together, and we both hope to see many of you join us there. Opening date is not yet decided, but we will make further announcements when more details come.
YTPMania is going to be a solution for the all-ages YouTube Poop community, provided by Smonge. I'll let him tell you about it himself in his blog entry, which can be read here. This is entirely of Smonge's creation out of his love for the Poop community, and I had no involvement. But all the same, I hope you poopers out there will give it a look.
The YouChew archive is still being planned, and we currently don't have an official closing date for the YouChew forums. We will announce more when we can on that front, and I thank you for your patience.
Update 3:
YouChew's official closure date will be October 1.
After that date, the forum will close, and the YouChew archive will go up. It will be a collection of read only pages that contain the entirety of: Forums, topics, posts, status updates, blogs, member pages, banners, and trading cards. Some threads and forum sections will not be archived, and personal info on member pages will not be archived. The archive will be visible to everyone.
You will be able to download a copy of all your PMs that were sent before a certain cutoff date. Additional PMs sent between that date and October 1 will not be saved. I'll update again when we have the cutoff date for PMs.
If there is anything you would not wish to be archived, you should remove it before October 1, or ask me for assistance.
With all of that said, Neon Castle is open for business! Come visit us at http://neoncastle.net/forum/. Keep in mind that you must be 18 or older to sign up. New registrations will be manually approved, and it might help if you include who you are in the text box while joining. Dopply put a lot of work into getting it all set up, but now we need a live audience to get in there and start poking around. We hope to see many of you there!
Update 4:
You can now download your PM history as of August 26, 2018. There should be a download button on your profile next to the Edit Profile and Cover Photo buttons, and it is only accessible to you. Additional PMs sent after this point won't be archived, so keep that in mind.
Update 5:
For convenience to our tech staff (and those who wish to stay up to watch the site shutdown), the close date has been moved up to September 30th, Midnight EST.

Okay okay, I know I said this:
from a long time ago, so Nintendo didn't made A starfox title for the Wii and after a year later. I was wrong and your were right.
So Nintendo had announced that a remake of Starfox 64 is coming on the Nintendo 3DS like never before seen in remastered 3D, but mostly the story is alike from the classic Nintendo 64 game so yeah.

I was at a flea market looking for rare video games, especially ones that were unreleased and/or haunted, and I found an NES cartridge that had no official label, just a slapdash handwritten one proclaiming it "ZELDA 1½: BAD HEADZ". It was three dollars and I didn't really feel like paying that much for a game that probably wasn't even haunted so I offered to give the vendor a massage instead. He said he'd have to talk to his wife about it first and while he was discussing it with her I walked off with the game.
I popped it into the NES when I got home then Uncle Shmooaag said it was time for dinner so I went downstairs and ate a meal of chicken, corn, and mashed potatoes. Then I got sleepy and went to sleep. I forgot about the game the next day but the day after that I remembered it and booted it up. I took some pictures so you'd believe me.
It looks like this is a version of Link: The Faces of Evil, but for the NES? That doesn't make sense! I don't understand! Nonetheless, pictures don't lie.
I was really curious about what the gameplay would be like after the opening cutscene, especially how well it would stack up to the CD-i version, but I guess maybe this version was never finished because so far the game always crashes after I pick somewhere on the map.
I'm gonna keep trying, though. I realize this may seem Farfetch'd, so here's a picture of the dinner I ate to prove I'm not making this up.
But what's REALLY weird is that Uncle Shmooaag has been dead for twelve years. Spooky!

I'm experimenting with animating without cleaning up the outlines, since it allows me to work much faster and looser and it's more fun. Does it work as a finished product, background notwithstanding?
(Please don't share this GIF yet; I realize it's silly to request something like this on the Internet but I'ma try anyway.)

Thank you YouChew, for being awesome. For being the best online community ever. We go through a lot of shit, but I'm really proud to have such a fantastic website. But in the end, it's not mine; it's everybody's.
Love you, staff.
Love you, guys.
Love everyone.

So that was a fun couple weeks.
I don't have too much to say as I am really tired right now, but we are now running on a better and faster server after the one we were previously using died. I do apologize for the long wait.
We're still not fully 100% back, I have a lot more things to do, but we're at a point where everyone can use YouChew without any big issues. Currently search isn't working but I will have that fixed tomorrow.
If you find anything wrong, please post about it here or create a ticket in the tracker. Thanks!
And before I forget, thanks to everyone who donated, the entire server was payed by you guys. I'll write up a blog post later this week thanking everyone individually.
So then, welcome back everyone!

Funny. I don't think in my 9 years on the forum I ever made an introduction topic to begin with. Anyways, hello, my name is Matt. About 12 years ago I messed around in Windows Movie Maker with cartoons based on old video games and submitted those videos to Youtube and somehow that snowballed into some big fad. I dunno what they call it nowadays, but some guy named Conrad made a website based around that fad and a whole community emerged from it. That's kind of neat that thing I did on accident, I guess. Then I joined, stayed around for quite a while, and then left in a rut.
So. So, so, so. It's almost been a year since I left. Funny thinking about it, typing this now it feels like almost no time has past and this is just posting on here as normal. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm sure a lot of people are aware of why I left when I did but I'd rather not get back into that because that's all water under the bridge. Truth be told there was a lot more going on than that one situation. That thing that happened in October was more of the last straw in a string of things that made me want to leave. Not really anything particular with the site or community, just a lot of things going on in my head and living situation and all that stuff. Long story short, I wasn't in a very good spot, and being here just didn't help. I thought isolating myself would've made me feel better. In some ways it did, but it mostly didn't. Until about a few weeks ago, late 2015 and most of 2016 was pretty much the worst year I've ever had as far as my mental state goes. Depression came and went more continuously than ever before and on levels worse than it ever had been. Long story short, throughout the year I've been at ends with my job, quit school again after struggling with both pay (financial aid got fucked up last year and I had to pay for the whole semester out of pocket, pretty much taking my entire paycheck the moment I got it) and depression getting in the way of assignments, spent a lot of days/nights not eating, contemplating suicide more frequently and seriously than ever before, I spent a few nights sleeping in my car in parking lots, said car died and I needed to get a new one, got a new car, that car got wrecked in a bad accident a month later, my insurance completely fucked me over and I lost a lot of money. It's been...swell. Just kind of felt like everything went bad at once. And it kind of did. So, again, making a very long story very short, I decided enough was enough and In the spring I decided to look for a better job; had a bunch of interviews for assorted office jobs, some of them even got as far as three interviews, and nothing. Kind of felt like I was going to be stuck in retail forever, which I guess I deserved since I totally fucked up school (Note to anyone under 20 reading this: don't do what I did) and that was kind of it. I was just going around in circles. I was miserable at Gamestop, both because I had been there for almost a decade and gotten very little out of it, and because I realized if I had gone anywhere else retail-wise I'd have to start back at square one making minimum wage which I really didn't want to do. So, in a weird batch of circumstances, everyone at my old but myself and one other person had left. My boss, my assistant manager and the other part-time manager had all moved on to better things. And I was the only one left, they were bringing in a new staff and if I wasn't going to get out of there by my own means, I was going to get "fired" by getting my hours cut and cut until it was down to nothing. But that's another story for another time, because I have a lot to say about that, too.
Anyway, after a bunch of interviews fell through, no calls back, etc. I kind of lost hope until a friend of my old boss told me that the place he works at is losing their IT guy and I've done a bunch of favors as far as modding and fixing systems and whatnot goes so he told me he could put a good word in for me there. And, well, I'm still kind of in shock, but after the interview, I found out pretty much immediately that I got hired. I put in my two weeks at Gamestop, worked the like three or whatever shifts I had left, and wasn't scheduled for the next week, so I've been enjoying myself quite a bit. I worked at Gamestop since 2008 and never once took a vacation or more than two days a week off on my own. So having a full week or so to myself is...really nice to say the very least. My job pretty much starts next week and I'm still enjoying my free birthday week, something I haven't had since I was just out of high school. And I've been doing a lot of thinking. I've realized that, in all this, I'm happy.
I am happy. I haven't been able to say that in such a long time I honestly forgot what it felt like. For the first time in almost a decade things actually feel like they're looking up and I'm no longer miserable about life in general as I have been in the last couple of years, this last year especially. I feel like I've got a whole life ahead of me now. I'm starting a comfortable job in a field I love working full time and, hopefully within a few months, will be living on my own again. I've been packing a lot of things up in preparation for it and it's such an exciting feeling. I almost feel like I don't deserve it but the joy of actually being satisfied with life is overpowering that feeling for once.
And that's why I'm here again. I left here, as well as other communities I was in like 4chan, because I was miserable, and being there didn't help me feel any better. While leaving may not have helped me emotionally like I thought it would, I didn't want to return until I felt like I could. Hard to explain, but I was so unhappy that I felt like I didn't deserve to be anywhere or involved with any communities but minding my own business until I could actually be content with myself. I guess maybe because I used my online life as a form of escapism and I assumed that stopping it would improve my real life situation. In a weird way, it didn't, but circumstances beyond the internet helped with that anyway.
So, I don't know really what to say. I'm not really 'back' so to speak, but I'm just here to say hello to those few who would like to exchange words with me again. Not that it really concerned anyone but me, but I'm okay now. Hello again.

I do apologize for halting any current discussions, but I would like to make this statement on behalf of the moderating staff before anything gets out of hand. We as a staff have decided to ban Hoipendaddy and InLivingTuna. If anyone is surprised by this, please continue reading the rest of this post.
On a few occasions we have been told that Hoip's group have been harassing people off the site, but we could never act on them as we had no evidence to support it. However, yesterday we were given evidence that Hoip has been harassing other members off the site such as Facebook. Tuna has also harassed at least one member on YouChew and due to being recently unbanned and under tight watch, he has been banned again. His behavior has shown to us that he has not improved as he had said in his ban appeal. As a reminder of our rules, harassment of other members is not tolerated here. This is not something to be taken lightly, which is why we as a staff discussed what to do rather than banning right away, so I can understand why these bans feel like they came out of nowhere.
This is not to say that this one instance of harassment is the only reason why Hoip has been banned. His particularly awful attitude about YouChew has been very bothersome in the long run. This includes continued complaining about YouChew, its staff and its members both on the site and off. Interrupting discussions to either make a blanket statement about the site or shit on any joke that is remotely catching on. The Skype group(s) he owns spend a large majority of their time complaining about YouChew, making negative statements about members they don't like, and turning anyone who is unfamiliar with the site against it. Any attempts to call him out on it causes him to disappear for a bit, only to start up again a day or two later. Of course YouChew is not perfect and their reasons for disliking the site are not always without merit, but this constant negativity is harming anyone who does enjoy the site. And going by our surveys we asked everyone to complete shows, a large majority do enjoy this site and we as a staff try to keep it that way to the best of our abilities.
In addition to this negativity, every once in a while, people from Hoip's Skype group will decide to spam for no reason. The most recent of which got PullThePower banned. While Hoip has not participated in recent bouts spam, he would still upvote their posts effectively approving their behavior and possibly encouraging it. While the leniency the site has is great without a doubt, Hoip's staying to the sidelines while other members of his group partake in the actual banworthy actions is deliberately taking advantage of this lenience. This is a good point to mention that any spamming from anyone associated with Hoip's group will result in stricter punishments, including bans. We are all tired of having to deal with it.
I would like to stress that we are not banning Hoip and Tuna for hating this site, people are allowed their opinions and we do listen to them. But at a certain point, it's not helpful to anyone and does more harm than good.
I know some of you guys like to get into really heated arguments when someone is banned, but I'd just like to ask that everyone keeps it a bit civil this time. Thanks.

I am pleased to announce that the YC Shop is open!
In the Points menu, you can now purchase items, trade items with other users, and much more. The interface is fairly straightforward and self-explanatory.
There are an assortment of basic items for sale now, and we'll be sure to add more later.
Some of the items demand that the you give the item to a moderator in order for you to use its effect. Simply send the item to a mod and alert that mod that you want to use the item. He or she will then use the mod tools to produce the desired effect. Most, if not all, of these kinds of items will have zany temporary effects on the forum and on other users. Have fun with them!
A general note in case you didn't know: You earn points by giving and receiving positive feedback on posts. Giving negative feedback costs points. Receiving positive feedback also boosts your reputation score, which is visible on your profile page. Some items manipulate reputation scores.
Of course, if you have any questions, you can raise them here.
Furthermore, if you have ideas for items, you can feel free to post them here. In the future, I hope to develop some system in which users can implement items for use with events or contests they are running. If you want to do something that might be made better with the help of an item, let me know.
