Emotional Hostages

This strip was written in mockery of media (particularly video games, as they're the most frequent offenders) that guilt trips the viewer for taking pleasure in the deaths of completely fictional characters. It's a cheap meta-narrative device hacks use to get unwarranted press. "Oh no," they'll say. "What monsters you are for playing this video game we developed and killing these characters we wrote."

The only monsters are the developers and writers who put those characters in those situations and allowed you, the viewer, to take pleasure in their -> fictional <- suffering.
